Small Noise Asymptotics of the Bayesian Estimator in Nonidentifiable Models

چکیده
We study the asymptotic behavior of the Bayesian estimator for a deterministic signal in additive Gaussian white noise, in the case where the set of minima of the Kullback–Leibler information is a submanifold of the parameter space. This problem includes as a special case the study of the asymptotic behavior of the nonlinear filter, when the state equation is noise-free, and when the limiting deterministic system is nonobservable. As the noise intensity goes to zero, the posterior probability distribution of the parameter asymptotically concentrates on the submanifold of minima of the Kullback–Leibler information. We give an explicit expression of the limit, and we study the rate of convergence. We apply these results to a practical example where nonidentifiability occurs. Speech Enhancement Using Gaussian Mixture Models, Explicit Bayesian Estimation and Wiener Filtering
Gaussian Mixture Models (GMMs) of power spectral densities of speech and noise are used with explicit Bayesian estimations in Wiener filtering of noisy speech. No assumption is made on the nature or stationarity of the noise. No voice activity detection (VAD) or any other means is employed to estimate the input SNR. The GMM mean vectors are used to form sets of over-determined system of equatio...
متن کاملA Bayesian Nominal Regression Model with Random Effects for Analysing Tehran Labor Force Survey Data
Large survey data are often accompanied by sampling weights that reflect the inequality probabilities for selecting samples in complex sampling. Sampling weights act as an expansion factor that, by scaling the subjects, turns the sample into a representative of the community. The quasi-maximum likelihood method is one of the approaches for considering sampling weights in the frequentist framewo...
متن کاملBayesian Inference for Spatial Beta Generalized Linear Mixed Models
In some applications, the response variable assumes values in the unit interval. The standard linear regression model is not appropriate for modelling this type of data because the normality assumption is not met. Alternatively, the beta regression model has been introduced to analyze such observations. A beta distribution represents a flexible density family on (0, 1) interval that covers symm...
متن کاملBayesian Estimation of Change Point in Phase One Risk Adjusted Control Charts
Use of risk adjusted control charts for monitoring patients’ surgical outcomes is now popular. These charts are developed based on considering the patient’s pre-operation risks. Change point detection is a crucial problem in statistical process control (SPC).It helpsthe managers toanalyzeroot causes of out-of-control conditions more effectively. Since the control chart signals do not necessarily...
متن کاملClassic and Bayes Shrinkage Estimation in Rayleigh Distribution Using a Point Guess Based on Censored Data
Introduction In classical methods of statistics, the parameter of interest is estimated based on a random sample using natural estimators such as maximum likelihood or unbiased estimators (sample information). In practice, the researcher has a prior information about the parameter in the form of a point guess value. Information in the guess value is called as nonsample information. Thomp...
